THE CALMING BLANKET FAQS
How does a weighted blanket work?
A weighted blanket relies on the principles of deep pressure stimulation for its therapeutic effects. Basically, the added weight triggers a host of beneficial changes in the body, including increased serotonin and melatonin production, decreased cortisol production, as well as an increased sense of calmness and relaxation, among others.
How do I choose the weight of my blanket?
Occupational therapists recommend getting a blanket that’s 10% to 15% of your body weight. However, if you’re not used to sleeping with heavy blankets, we recommend a lighter version to get started, You can also pile some regular blankets on top of you at home to get a feel for the weight before you order.
Are you associated with any other blanket brands?
NO! We are aware of a brand in the US which is mistreating their customers. We are in no way associated with them and are based out of Australia. We are completely trustworthy and have the reviews to prove it.
How big is the blanket?
Our adult blanket is 198 cm x 122 cm (48” x 78”). The kids’ version is 122 cm x 91 cm (48” x 36”) . Our Queen/King blanket is 215 cm x 198 cm (85” x 78”).
How do I ensure even weight distribution?
If you have a feeling that your blanket is bunched up in the middle, make sure that the inner ties are secured to the cover.
Is a weighted blanket recommended for babies and toddlers?
We have a kids blanket ideal for children however for safety reasons we don’t recommend any of our blankets for toddlers under 3 years of age. When giving your child a weighted blanket make sure that your child can lift the blanket safely before putting them to bed with it.
Is the Calming Blanket appropriate for warm weather?
It can be. We have worked for months to design a blanket that can be used throughout the year. During the hotter summer months, we recommend using a cotton cover (which can be bought separately).
Is the blanket machine-washable?
Yes, both the cover and the inner blanket are machine-washable. We recommend separating them and washing on a gentle cycle in tepid or warm water. Use only mild detergents and don’t use fabric softeners.
How do your discounts work?
✔︎ We often have discount codes available. These codes are for weighted blankets only (unless clearly stated otherwise). Our platform only allows one discount code to be used at a time. Any other discounts for other products will not require a code - they will be marked down via a comparison price. Strike-through prices may consider the discount code mentioned in the description.
SAFETY - Please do not use the blanket near an open flame. Our blankets are not suitable for children under 3 years of age. If any part of the blanket rips or begins leaking, please dispose of it immediately. Do not consume the beads. We recommend parent supervision when a child is using the blanket. If you have a medical condition which you think may prevent you from safely using our products we recommend that you consult your GP to ensure that our blankets, weighted toys and/or sensory sheets are suitable for you.
DELIVERY & SHIPPING
How does delivery work?
✔︎ We use Royal Mail and DPD express delivery for most our deliveries within the UK (as well as a number of EU countries).
UK delivery is free, however please do note that if you are located in Europe but outside of the UK, your country may expect you to pay the duty fees required to import goods into your country - a fee that might be placed on delivery by your country's government.
You can expect your parcel within 2-4 business days (or 3 - 8 business days outside of the UK). When we ship the order you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. Please don't stress if there are no scan events within the first 24 hours - the system can take a day or so to catch up.
If the item has a specified "sent" date beside it in brackets this means the item is a pre-order item, and you will receive that item in 2 - 8 business days from this date.
If you live outside the UK and are tracking your delivery via a Royal Mail link, please click on the red box saying continue tracking to follow it through to your local mail delivery service.
Can I cancel an order after I have placed it?
If you went through our entire checkout process and confirmed an order we may be unable to cancel it. This is due to our system immediately sending your order through to our fulfillment partner. This system allows a very fast delivery service to our customers. However if you require your ordered to be changed or cancelled please send us an email immediately with the subject line CANCEL or CHANGE and we will do our very best to complete your request.
Please keep in mind due to the current high volume of orders and customer service requests occasionally an order will be processed before the team has a chance to change it. We cannot guarantee a change of order after the order is placed so please select your items carefully.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is our return policy?
We offer a 30-day free returns policy. The product being returned must be in an acceptable condition (no stains/damage). Please ensure to keep it in a like new condition while trialing it. Please keep the original packaging it came in if you consider the possibility of sending the item back to us, as it needs to be returned in its original packaging. If upon inspection your return item is deemed unfit by our inspection team for any reason we reserve the right to deny your refund.
How can I return something?

One of our customer representatives will reach out to you as soon as possible; usually within the same day. Please bear in mind, when waiting for your reply, that our Customer Service Team operates from Australia and is therefore in a different timezone. To expedite the process, please include the following information in your initial email:
- Order number and name used to place the order
- Product you are looking to return
- Reason why you are considering returning the item
Our Customer Service Team will then ask few mandatory questions regarding your return in order to for us to avoid people taking advantage of our system, however this information will enable us to start your returns process immediately.
We will send you a return shipping label for free, that you will be required to attach to your original packaging before dropping it into a post office.
BILLING & PAYMENTS
How do I pay for my order?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. You can also use G-Pay to fast-track the payment process. We cannot accept cash or payments over the phone at this point.
Is interest-free finance available?
Not yet! We are working on it though.
